Roots pump plays an important role in vacuum acquisition equipment, especially the two important indexes of allowable differential pressure and zero flow compression ratio, which are low in China's industry standards. This gap is closely related to the machining quality of roots pump rotor profile. This paper makes a preliminary analysis on the influence of rotor profile machining error on the quality of roots pump and the control of machining error.
The allowable differential pressure refers to the maximum value of the allowable difference between outlet pressure and inlet pressure when the inlet pressure of roots pump is not greater than 1000Pa and operates continuously for 1H without failure. It is an important index to measure the operation reliability of Roots vacuum pump under power consumption conditions. The allowable differential pressure directly affects the allowable service range of roots pump. The allowable differential pressure shall be ensured, A main measure is to ensure that a certain meshing clearance is maintained between rotors under differential pressure. However, if the clearance between rotors increases, the extraction efficiency of roots pump will decrease, that is, another important performance index affecting roots pump - zero flow compression ratio. The size of compression ratio indicates how much gas is returned from the outlet of roots pump to the inlet. From the point of view of improving the zero flow compression ratio, the smaller the meshing clearance between rotors is required. Therefore, the allowable differential pressure and zero flow compression ratio are two indicators that restrict each other. To take both into account, the key point is to ensure that the clearance at each meshing point between rotor and rotor is uniform and maintained at a certain value. Too small clearance at a certain point will reduce the allowable differential pressure of the pump, and too large clearance at a certain point will affect the zero flow compression ratio, resulting in the reduction of zero flow compression ratio and allowable differential pressure. Therefore, while ensuring the design quality of rotor profile, the profile processing error must be strictly controlled.
